Maintenance to the air filterDust in the combustion air can cause premature wear of the engine. Maintenance of the air cleaner is therefore essential to ensure long life. It is also necessary to check unions and connections of the intake manifold regularly. Oil bath type air cleaner The maintenance should only be made after shutting down the engine and waiting for at least one hour. In the case of moderate dust conditions, the oil-bath type air cleaner must be taken apart once a year, replace the oil in the cleaner bowl, and the fixed upper metal wool must be cleaned repeatedly immersion in diesel fuel. In case of extreme dust conditions, this procedure should be carried out twice a year. When disassembling and reassembling the air cleaner, make sure that the rubber gasket on the cleaner bowl is not damaged. Always remember that only a clean air cleaner will give clean combustion air, which is so vital for high engine performance and low wear. Paper-element type air cleaner When the engine is stopped, remove the bowl, take out the element, and clean it. If the element has defects, replace it immediately. Remember that the element should be replaced at lease once a year. The following is the cleaning methods for the element. 1.Tap the element gently with its front end against the palm of your hand or on a soft surface to shake off the dust. Take care not to damage the front end of the element. 2.Apply air blast of max 5X10 5 Pa diagonally inside and out until no more dust is coming out. Caution: Do not wash the element with any liquid Prior to reassembly, introduce a lighted bulb into the filter element to see whether it suffered damage(damaged elements must be replaced timely) Attention, If the alarm indicator stay in the green sector, it means the air filter can work normally, while if the alarm indicator goes to the red sector, it`s time to do the maintenance. Maintenance Keys: 1. Clean dust and dirt timely 2. Change filter cartridge(when alarm indicator turn on) 3. Press vacuum mechanical indicator button after maintenance done 4. Keep inlet parts joint tightly
